Our Response to COVID-19
At TracFone Wireless, Inc. we care deeply about our employees, customers and community. As part of our mission to deliver coverage and access for all, over the past several weeks our dedicated teams and partners have rallied together to continue to deliver reliable, high-quality, affordable no-contract wireless services, as well as innovative solutions to support our customers.
To address the immediate needs of our 20MM+ customer base, we began with our SafeLink brand, which is free for eligible customers who are typically in challenging financial circumstances. SafeLink added 5GB to the 3GB monthly data allotment (for a new total of 8GB) for March, April and May, as well as added unlimited voice minutes in early April to our existing unlimited texting feature. We also ensured approximately 150,000 veterans with SafeLink Wireless service could access the VA Video Connect application to meet their VA health teams and doctors virtually, without utilizing any of their data.
We then started to provide a series of enhanced, complimentary benefits in March across our entire brand portfolio to address the diverse needs of our customer base and are currently working to extend many of those benefits through the end of May.
We encourage customers who have active service with any of our brands to text COVID to 611611 to learn more about the enhanced benefits that are specific to their plan.
In addition to the enhanced benefits, we quickly put contingency plans in place to supplement our customer service capacity to ensure our customers receive help when they need it. And we continue to work closely with our partners to ensure our services continue to perform with little or no disruption, even with the amount of increased traffic that we have seen over the past several weeks.
None of these programs and services could have been implemented successfully without the relentless dedication of our amazing employees. Their health and safety will remain at the forefront of our work in the weeks and months ahead.
